Yamilet Trinidad is a photo-based artist born and raised in South Florida. Her work focuses on her personal history and identity through photography. Growing up as a Latin American, dissecting her memories, emotions, and family narrative is crucial in understanding herself and her heritage. Her depictions of these sites of cultural importance and self-portraiture capture her interests in abstraction, storytelling, light, and shadows. She graduated with her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography at the New World School of the Arts and the University of Florida in 2023. She was recently featured in a group exhibition at the Museum of Arts & Sciences in Daytona Beach, Florida.
